ISTANA NURUL IMAN, Monday 2 February 2015 – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) has consented to receive in audience Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces, His Excellency General Worapong Sanganetra at Istana Nurul Iman.
Accompanying His Excellency was the Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
Present at the ceremony were Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Embassy of Thailand in Brunei Darussalam, Mrs. Siripon Thaitrong; the Deputy Chief of Defence of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, Admiral Taweewuth Pongsapipatt; the Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Sommai Kaotira; the Deputy Chief of Joint Staff, Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Surapong Suwana-Adth; and the Chief of Staff Officer to the Chief of Defence of Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan.
Also present at the audience were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office (Security and Enforcement) and Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binte Haji Umar, Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at Ministry of Defence.
On a separate occasion, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binte Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Haji Mohamed Alam also consented to receive in audience the spouse of Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces, Mrs Wichuda Sanganetra . She was accompanied by the wife of RBAF Acting Deputy Commander, Datin Sakdiah binte Haji Mohd Noor.
