PENANJONG GARRISON, Wedensday 7 January 2015 – A flag cession ceremony to commemorate the participation of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Shooting Team and the Royal Brunei Police Force Shooting Team as the Brunei Darussalam Shooting Team for the 11th BISAM was held at Binturan Range, Penanjong Garrison.
The handover flag of was presided by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
The flag was handed to Lieutenant Colonel Abidin bin Haji Timbang as the Contingent Commander for Brunei Darussalam Shooting Team.
The RBAF Commander in his speech emphasised on the significance of the event especially seeing Brunei Darussalam as the hosting country and for the first time, the 11th BISAM will host the largest number of shooting contingents participating including the US and China. The Commander also highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline, professionalism and continuous training as it holds to the key of success.
A total number of 82 personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces constitutes as Brunei Darussalam ‘A’ and Brunei Darussalam ‘B’ while a total number of 32 personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force constitutes as Brunei Darussalam ‘C’ respectively. 11th BISAM will officially start on the 20th January 2015.
Also present during the ceremony was Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Wardi bin Abd Latip, 11th BISAM Chairman, Lieutenant Colonel Hasmee bin Haji Abd Wahab, senior officers, representative from the Royal Brunei Police Force, officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the 11th BISAM Organising Committee.
