RIMBA, Thursday 18 December 2014 – The Royal Brunei Air Force have appointed a New Deputy Commander. The handover ceremony took place this afternoon at Dewan Punai, Royal Brunei Air Force Base Rimba.
At the handover ceremony, newly appointed Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force 265 Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah took over the position from 318 Colonel (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah followed by the signing of parchment between Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah and Colonel (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat indicating the official handover of the Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force appointment.
Also present during the official handover ceremony were the senior officers, officers as well as men and women of the Royal Brunei Air Force.
Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah begins his appointment as the new Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force effective from 19 December 2014. He previously held the post of Director of Force Capability Development at the Ministry of Defence.
The ceremony also saw a speech being delivered by Colonel (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat. Colonel (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat has been holding the post of Deputy Commander since 5 November 2012.
