BERAKAS, Thusday 4 December 2014 – Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) silat exponents bagged 10 out of the 22 gold medals being contested at the 2nd Brunei Darussalam National games.
In addition to the 10 gold medals, MS ABDB also grabbed four silver and five bronze medals.
Belait District collected four gold, six silver and four bronze medals. Invited team from Sabah won four gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
Tutong District bagged two gold, five silver and six bronze medals while Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council won one gold, two silver and six bronze medals.
Temburong District took home one gold, one silver and one bronze while Brunei-Muara District won three silver and four bronze medals.
The final of the ‘D’ Tanding was won by Sld Mohd Izzat bin Zaini of MS ABDB. In the final of the male ‘F’ Tanding category, Belait’s Awang Syafi’e bin Awang Mohd Sufri defeated Mohd Zulfaisal bin Zainidi of Brunei-Muara District 4-1 to win the gold medal.
In the male Tanding ‘B’ category, Sabah’s Iqmal bin Mail fought off Abdul Majid bin Abdul Razak of Brunei-Muara District 5-0 to win Sabah’s fourth gold medal of the competition.
Legislative Council member and also Village Head of Kg belimbing, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Gapor@Haji Mohd Daud bin Karim as the guest of honour presented the medals to the winner.
