BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 14 November 2014 – A five-day workshop on Professional and Creative Video Production was conducted at the SEAMEO VOCTECH Regional Centre, Gadong for fifteen civilian and military personnel from Ministry of Defence and various units of Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The workshop began on 10 November 2014 until 14 November 2014.
The workshop exposed the participants in handling the latest technological equipment that is being used in creative video production. They were given both practical sessions and theory guidance, which include assignments and producing their own videos. This course aimed to develop the human capability of every personnel in line with MINDEF vision i.e. To deliver Robust, Responsive and Resource Efficient Armed Forces.
During the workshop, the participants learned how to make corporate videos, documentary from basic (pre-production) until post-production works, formulating script writing, storyboard, montage, effect, shooting, video editing and production by using Edius Pro Grass software. They were also thought to produce a video in accordance with the television station broadcast standard. An outdoor video shooting session was also made at some of the attractive places in Bandar Seri Begawan such as Kampong Air, The Waterfront, Tasek Lama Recreational Park, Royal Regalia Building and etc.
During the closing ceremony of the workshop, the certificates of completion were presented by the guest of honour, Awang Nor Aidil bin Haji Abu Bakar, Acting Director of Administration and Manpower, Ministry of Defence. The event also saw video presentations from all four productions group and critique session by the course facilitator and instructor.
The workshop was organised by the Public Relations Unit, Ministry of Defence in collaboration with a very well known professional in the fields of multi media and film production from Malaysia, Sharif Zulkepele bin Sharif Harun.
