BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 12 November 2014 – Students of the International School Brunei (ISB) were given the rare opportunity today to enjoy several acoustic band performances and simultaneously learn music from members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) band and the visiting United States (U.S) Naval 7th Fleet band, who are in the country as part of the CARAT Exercise between RBAF and U.S. Navy.
Present to watch the show were His Majesty’s children, His Royal
Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah
Wardatul Bolkiah.
Also in attendance was Yang Teramat
Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim ibni His Royal Highness Prince Haji
Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince.
The professional military musicians’ visit to the school was to expose and educate students to various music genres, styles and rythm, which they have not heard before.
The workshop enables the students to have first hand exposure in a subject which they will soon have the option of taking up, especially for Year Seven and Year Eight students. The workshop hoped to encourage more students to join the school and college band and promote the school non-academic endeavours.
A final live performance by both military bands will be held at the Jerudong Park Amusement Park on the evening November 14.
