BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday 11 November 2014 – Spectators cheered and sang along to various musical numbers performed by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) band and the visiting US Naval 7th Fleet band at a performance held at the atrium of The Mall, Gadong.
The performance was divided into three sets, with the RBAF band performing first, followed by the 7th fleet band and finally a combination of both bands.
The performance was part of the band’s line-up activities during their stay here in conjunction with the Brunei-US Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Maritime exercises.
The shopping mall’s atrium echoed with music as the band belted popular songs such as ‘All of me’ made popular by John Legend and classics which include ‘Let it be’ and ‘Signed Sealed Deliver’.
The balconies of the multi-level shopping arcade were also flooded with people who wanted to get a glimpse of the live act.
The two bands will continue with an acoustic performance and a musical workshop tomorrow for students at International School Brunei (ISB) as well as community service and a performance at Pusat Ehsan. On November 14, the bands will also perform at the Jerudong Park playground area.
CARAT is a series of annual, bilateral Maritime exercises between the US Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
