BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday 20 May 2014 – The 4th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference (ACMMC) commenced today at the Rizqun International Hotel after the official Opening Ceremony with the theme ‘Enhancing ASEAN Militaries Cooperation Through Military Medical Research’.
This annual meeting of the heads of the ASEAN Military Medical organization aims to seek opportunities for boosting ASEAN military medical cooperation in raising people’s health, tackling environmental problems, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
It is hoped that this year’s ACMMC will further increase cooperation and enhance the working relationships between the ASEAN militaries. In addition this year’s conference also aims to explore new areas for collaboration and cooperation amongst the ASEAN Military Medical organizations.
Concurrent to the 4th ACMMC, the Young ASEAN Military Medical Officer (YAMMO) Scientific Programme is also being held at the same venue where YAMMOs from each ASEAN country will present a topic of own research from their own countries.
