RIMBA, Monday 5 May 2014 – 123 personnel from 1st Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Forces(RBLF) departs today to the Republic of Singapore to participate in a bilateral exercise codenamed ‘Maju Bersama’ with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). The exercise will take place from 5 May to 17 May 2014.

Prior to departure, a flag cession ceremony was held at the Air Movement Centre, Rimba Air Base. The flag was handed over by Colonel Pg Dato Paduka Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud, Acting Commander of RBLF to Major Pg Mohd Khairollah bin Pg Haji Zainal, Officer Commanding of B Company, 1Bn RBLF as the head of exercise contingent.  Also in attendance were Senior Officers and officers of RBLF and family members.

Since its inception in 1995, Exercise Maju Bersama is an annual bilateral exercise between the SAF and the RBLF. This year’s exercise will be hosted by 1 Guard, Singapore Infantry Battalion at Bedok Camp and focuses on Urban Operations. As both armies have enjoyed a long-standing cooperation for many years, this exercise is expected not only to share both armies’ capabilities, but also to share experiences, in the process, an opportune chance to make friends with soldiers from other armies.
