JAKARTA, Friday 4 November 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit attended the 7th Indo Defence 2016 Expo and Forum in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia which ran from 2 to 4 November 2016.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister of Defence to the 7th Indo Defence 2016 Expo was His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Brunei Darussalam’s Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia. The delegation also comprised of Captain (Rtd) Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology) and officers from the Ministry of Defence.
The event was one of Southeast Asia’s biggest expo on defence that aims to encourage the development of defence industry, aerospace and security services in the region. The expo this year carried the theme “Achieving Comprehensive Maritime Surveillance and Security through Technology Innovation and Partnership” and gathered over 25,000 delegates and 800 companies from more than 50 countries.
The 7th Indo Defence 2016 Expo and Forum was launched by His Excellency Dr. Jusuf Kalla, the Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia while the Indo Defence Tri-Services Forum was officiated by His Excellency General (Rtd) Ryamizard Ryacudu, the Minister of Defence, Republic of Indonesia.
On the sidelines of the event, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz also had a bilateral call on His Excellency General (Rtd) Ryamizard Ryacudu.
During the call, both sides expressed their satisfaction at the warm and close defence and military relations between both countries. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further advance the bilateral defence relations between the two countries by working together through mutually beneficial activities, interaction and cooperation. Issues on regional and international security issues of common concern were also discussed.

TIMBALAN MENTERI PERTAHANAN HADIRI 7TH INDO DEFENCE 2016 EXPO AND FORUM
JAKARTA, Jumaat 4 November 2016 – Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit telah menghadiri Expo dan Forum Indo Defence yang ke-7 di Jakarta, Republik Indonesia yang mengambil tempat pada 2 hingga 4 November 2016.
Bersama beliau di acara tersebut ialah Duta Besar Negara Brunei Darussalam ke Republik Indonesia, Tuan Yang Terutama Brigedier Jeneral (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abdul Rahman dan Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Teknologi) di Kementerian Pertahanan, Kepten (B) Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh.
Acara ini merupakan salah satu daripada expo pertahanan yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan industri pertahanan, angkasa dan perkhidmatan sekuriti di rantau ini.
Expo dan Forum kali ini membawakan tema Achieving Comprehensive Maritime Surveillance and Security through Technology Innovation and Partnership dan telah disertai oleh lebih daripada 25,000 delegasi dan 800 perusahaan daripada 50 buah negara.
Expo dan Forum Indo Defence yang ke-7 tersebut telah dilancarkan oleh Wakil President Republik Indonesia, Tuan Yang Terutama Dr. Jusuf Kalla manakala Indo Defence Tri-Services Forum telah dirasmikan oleh Menteri Pertahanan, Tuan Yang Terutama Jenderal (B) Ryamizard Ryacudu.
Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, Negara Brunei Darussalam juga membuat kunjungan dua hala kepada Tuan Yang Terutama Jenderal (B) Ryamizard.
Semasa kunjungan itu, kedua pihak menyatakan rasa puas hati di atas hubungan pertahanan dan tentera yang baik dan kukuh di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Indonesia. Kedua pihak juga menyuarakan komitmen mereka untuk terus memajukan hubungan pertahanan di antara kedua buah negara melalui aktiviti dan kerjasama yang membawakan faedah bersama. Mereka juga membincangkan isu-isu keselamatan antarabangsa dan serantau.
