BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 30 June 2016 – First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd. Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Brunei Darussalam, received an introductory call from His Excellency Mr. Biravij Suwanpradhes, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam at Bolkiah Garrison, Bandar Seri Begawan.

His Excellency the Ambassador presented his credential to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 23 March 2016.       

During the call, the Deputy Minister of Defence and His Excellency the Ambassador expressed satisfaction at the active bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand especially in the area of defence.

In military to military cooperation, the Deputy Minister hoped that the armed forces of both countries will continue to work closely together at all levels. He commended Thailand’s strong support in all the ADMM and ADMM Plus initiatives which were hosted by Brunei Darussalam. The Deputy Minister also congratulated and expressed support to all Thailand’s initiatives under the ADMM and ADMM Plus frameworks.

The call ended with both sides looking forward to further strengthening cooperation in the field of defence including through exchanges of visits; joint training and courses; and interaction activities of personnel.
