BERAKAS GARRISON, Friday 27 May 2016 – By consent of His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), 2 senior officers and 72 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were presented with their insignias at the promotion ceremony today.
The ceremony took place this morning at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison where the insignia presentation was led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the RBAF.
In the promotion line-up, 265 Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah, the Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and 609 Lt Col (U) Haji Mohd Muluddin bin Awang Haji Latif, Director of Force Capability Development was promoted to Colonel.
While 14 officers were promoted to Substantive Major / Lt Commander, 12 officers were promoted to Acting Major / Lt Commander, 18 officers were promoted to Substantive Captain / Lieutenant and 27 officers were promoted to Acting Captain / Lieutenant and one Officer Cadet was promoted to Lieutenant .
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, members of Defence Executive Committee, Services Commanders, Commandants, Directors, Senior Officers and Officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as family members of the promoted senior officers.
The RBAF promotion ceremony is part of an ongoing effort to recognise, reward and groom officers who have performed well and demonstrated potential to contribute further to the RBAF.
