MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday 25 April 2016 – KDB DARUTTAQWA has safely arrived at Muara Naval Base after participating in the second series of Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo and International Fleet Review 2016 that was held at Padang, West Sumatra, Republic of Indonesia from the 12th to 16th April 2016.
Welcoming the arrival of KDB DARUTTAQWA was the Acting Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Commander Shamsul Bahren bin Haji Taweh RBN. Also present were RBN Senior Officers, Officers and RBN personnel as well as family members.
KDB DARUTTAQWA sailed on the 4th April 2016 to participate in the Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo and International Fleet Review 2016 under the command of Commander Khairil bin Haji Abd Rahman RBN with a total crew of 59 personnel including attachment personnel. The Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo and the International Fleet Review 2016 was participated by 48 navy ships from 35 countries. The Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo featured a series of harbor and sea activities that provided an excellent platform for participating navies to work together to enhance information sharing and maritime cooperation.
Meanwhile, the International Fleet Review showcased a parade of warships as well as various interactions among navy personnel such as city parade, sports events, band performance, and also cultural dinner.
The participation of KDB DARUTTAQWA in the Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo and International Fleet Review 2016 marked another significant milestone for the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) towards further strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties with other navies around the world.
