BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 22 April 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit this morning received a courtesy call from Major General Peter Te Aroha Emile Kelly, Chief of Army, New Zealand Defence Force, at Bolkiah Garrison, Bandar Seri Begawan.

 
During the call, both sides recognised the strong bilateral defence relations and reaffirmed their commitments to continue strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation through various platforms including exercises, exchange of visits, joint training and promoting dialogue between defence and military officials.  

The Deputy Minister of Defence thanked New Zealand for their continued support in the upcoming ADMM-Plus Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism Exercise that is scheduled to be held in Brunei Darussalam and Singapore early next month. Currently, Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand are co-chairing the ADMM-Plus Expert Working Group (EWG) on Maritime Security.

The call ended with an exchange of mementos.
