DOHA, Qatar, Tuesday 29 March 2016 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy attended the 5th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) 2016 today, as representative of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.  

During the event, the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy had  the opportunity to meet the Chief of Naval Staff of Qatar Emiri Navy, Staff Major General (SEA) Mohammed Nasser Al Mohannadi during a  bilateral meeting where they explored ideas and knowledge on professional exchanges in enhancing their defence relations. The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy also personally congratulated the Chief of Naval Staff of Qatar Emiri Navy, Staff Major General (SEA) Mohammed Nasser Al Mohannadi for the successful and eventful exhibition.

The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy also met with the Commander of Royal Jordanian Navy, Brigadier General Ibrahim Salman Nuemat, where both sides discussed ways of further strengthening bilateral defence relations between both countries.   

Hosted and organised by the Qatar Armed Forces, the opening ceremony was officiated by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar. The Chief of Naval Staff of Qatar Emiri Navy, Staff Major General (SEA) Mohammed Nasser Al Mohannadi also presented his opening remarks. This year’s biennial event takes place in Doha on 29-31  March 2016.
