BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 25 February 2016 – The team from the Special Force Regiment (SFR) emerged champion in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Orienteering Competition held at the Berakas Forest Reserve today by collecting 2555 points. The runner-up went to Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) with 2440 points while the Ministry of Defence came in third place with 2320 points.
In the Individual Categories, Lt Col Hj Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman won the category for 40 years old and above. Meanwhile Sgt Marzan bin Sinjan, Cpl Awg Mohd Ardey Affizulnor Yusra Bin Arbi and Cpt Abd Hazim Bin Hj Abd Rahman won the 35 to 39 years old, 30 to 34 years old and 29 years old and below respectively.
The orienteering competition was aimed to test map reading skills as well as their mental and physical endurance. In this competition the participants were given a set of time span to search for the allocated check points.
The participating teams were RBLF, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF), SFR and the Ministry of Defence.
Present as the guest of honour to present prizes was the RBAF Commander, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah. Also present were Services Commanders, Commandant of Training Institute RBAF, Directors, Senior officers and other RBAF personnel.
REJIMEN PASUKAN KHAS JUARA PERLAWANAN MERINTIS
PERINGKAT ABDB 2016
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Khamis 25 Februari 2016 - Pasukan merintis Rejimen Pasukan Khas (RPK) muncul juara di perlawanan merintis peringkat Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) bertempat di Hutan Simpan Berakas hari ini dengan mengumpul sebanyak 2555 mata. Naib Johan dimenangi oleh Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) dengan 2440 mata manakala Kementerian Pertahanan jatuh di tempat ketiga dengan mengumpul 2320 mata.
Bagi Kategori Perseorangan, Lt Kol Hj Mohammad Shahnonnizam bin Sulaiman memenangi bagi kategori 40 tahun ke atas. Sementara Sjn Marzan bin Sinjan memenangi bagi kategori 35 ke 39 tahun, Kpl Awg Mohd Ardey Affizulnor Yusra Bin Arbi bagi kategori 30 ke 34 tahun dan Kpt Abd Hazim Bin Hj Abd Rahman bagi kategori 29 tahun ke bawah.
Perlawanan merintis ini adalah untuk menguji kemahiran membaca peta dan dalam masa yang sama menguji kecergasan mental serta ketahanan jasmani anggota-anggota. Di dalam perlawanan ini, peserta-peserta diberikan masa yang terhad untuk mencari ‘check points’ yang telah di tetapkan.
Pasukan yang ikut serta adalah TDDB, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB), RPK dan Kementerian Pertahanan.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat untuk menyampaikan hadiah ialah Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Pemerintah ABDB. Turut hadir pada acara tersebut ialah Pemerintah-Pemerintah Unit, Komandan IL ABDB, Pengarah-pengarah, Pegawai-pegawai Kanan dan anggota-anggota ABDB.
