BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 25 February 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit received a farewell call from His Excellency Jaya Ratnam, High Commissioner of Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, at the Bolkiah Garrison, Ministry of Defence this morning.
During the call, both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore, as well as regional issues and current affairs.
His Excellency Jaya Ratnam, High Commissioner of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam expressed his satisfaction that defence relation between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore continued to be enhanced. His Excellency also expressed his appreciation to Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces for the good working relationship he had enjoyed during his tenure in Brunei Darussalam.
Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz also echoed His Excellency’s sentiment and wished His Excellency well in any future endeavors.
Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore have long-standing defence relations; seen through the various interactions such as exchange of visits by both side’s defence and military officials, trainings and courses, and defence and military-related meetings and activities at bilateral and regional level.
