BOLKIAH GARISON, Tuesday 9 February 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit received a farewell call at the Ministry of Defence by His Excellency Mr Chirdchu Raktabutr, the outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Kingdom of Thailand.
During the call, the Deputy Minister of Defence thanked the Ambassador for his cooperation and contribution to the advancement of relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand.
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Armed Forces interact regularly in the defence sector through trainings and professional exchanges and is particularly improved through the ADMM-Plus platform, whereby Brunei and Thailand have professional exchanges in areas such as maritime security, counter terrorism, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and military medicine. These interactions have helped enhance the interoperability between the two armed forces and strengthen the rapport and mutual understanding among the personnel.
The farewell call concluded with the presenting of a momento by the Deputy Minister of Defence to the outgoing Ambassador in appreciation of his invaluable services.
