BOLKIAH GARISON, Tuesday 9 February 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit received an introductory visit at the Ministry of Defence by Colonel Kamarudzaman bin Mohd Thani, the incoming Malaysia Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam. Colonel Kamarudzaman also called on the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar.
His calls to senior officials of the Ministry of Defence underscore the close and long-standing defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. The Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Malaysian Armed Forces interact regularly through professional exchanges, secondment of Malaysian Armed Forces officers at Royal Brunei Armed Forces unit, regular attendance to professional courses and embedment of Royal Brunei Armed Forces officers at the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon under the Malaysian battalion.
The introductory visit concludes with exchange of momento between the Deputy Minister of Defence and the incoming Defence Adviser.
