BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 21 January 2016 – The Royal Thai Embassy hosted a dinner reception last night to mark the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day with First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence as the guest of honour.
Also present were Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), and Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
His Excellency Chirdchu Raktabutr, the Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam delivered a speech particularly highlighting the bilateral cooperation between the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the RBAF; their interactions through bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits, professional exchanges and courses.
Then the guest of honour along with other senior defence officials was invited to a cake-cutting ceremony and exchange of souvenirs between the ambassador and the deputy minister.
Also in attendance at the reception were senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and high ranking officers from RBAF.
