BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 20 November 2017 – Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Bin Abdullah, the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a courtesy call from Lieutenant General Nicholas Arthur William Pope, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas this afternoon.
During the call, the Commander of RBAF expressed pleasure to welcome back Lieutenant General Nicholas Pope to Brunei Darussalam and extended his congratulations for his appointment as Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas on 01 September 2016. Both sides commended the strong and special bilateral relationship between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the British Armed Forces through continuous high-level defence visits, exercises and courses over the years.
The Commander of RBAF also extended his appreciation to the British Armed Forces for the continuous support accorded to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces especially with the stationing of the Second Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles in Brunei Darussalam. The Commander of RBAF hopes to further explore various more platforms to enhance the bilateral relations between the two armed forces in the future.
PEMERINTAH ABDB MENERIMA KUNJUNGAN HORMAT DARIPADA
DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF AND COLONEL COMMANDANT BRIGADE OF GURKHAS
BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin, 20 November 2017 – Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Bin Abdullah, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) menerima kunjungan pengenalan daripada Leftenan Jeneral Nicholas Arthur William Pope, Deputy Chief of the General Staff dan Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas petang tadi.
Semasa kunjungan pengenalan, Pemerintah ABDB berbesar hati dengan kedatangan dengan Leftenan Jeneral Nicholas Pope ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan mengucapkan tahniah di atas lantikan beliau sebagai Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas pada 1 September 2016.
Kedua belah pihak berpuas hati dengan hubungan yang rapat di antara ABDB dan British Armed Forces melalui lawatan, eksesais dan kursus disepanjang tahun.
Pemerintah ABDB merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada British Armed Forces di atas sokongan yang berterusan terhadap ABDB terutama dengan kehadiran Batalion Kedua Royal Gurkha Rifles di Negara Brunei Darussalam. Pemerintah ABDB juga berharap untuk meningkatkan lagi hubungan dua hala di antara kedua Angkatan Tentera pada masa akan datang.
