PATTAYA, THAILAND, Monday, 20 November 2017 – The opening ceremony of the ASEAN International Fleet Review (IFR) 2017 was held Sunday morning on the 19 November 2017 at the Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The ceremony was officially launched by General (Retired) Prawit Wongsuwon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Thailand.
KDB DARUTTAQWA is currently in Pattaya Bay, along 13 ships from Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and 24 other international ships, participating in the event. In conjunction with the IFR 207, KDB DARUTTAQWA is also participating in the First ASEAN Maritime National Exercise (AMNEX), where the sea phase will commence tomorrow. Other activities included the 11th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting and the ASEAN Night Reception that was held the day prior to the IFR.
This morning, the Prime Minister of Thailand, General Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the ceremonial inspection at the IFR 2017, sailing past all participating ships on board the HTMS THALANG. First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was in attendance at the event amongst other distinguished Chiefs of Navy and their representatives.
KDB DARUTTAQWA will depart Pattaya on the 22 November 2017 and is scheduled to arrive Brunei Darussalam on the 29 November 2017.
ASEAN INTERNATIONAL FLEET REVIEW 2017
PATTAYA, THAILAND, Isnin, 20 November 2017 – Majlis Perasmian International Fleet Review (IFR) 2017 telah diadakan pada hari Ahad, 19 November 2017 di Hotel Dusit Thani Pattaya bertujuan untuk memperingati Ulang Tahun Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ke-50. Majlis ini dilancarkan secara rasmi oleh Jeneral (Bersara) Prawit Wongsuwan, Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Pertahanan Thailand.
KDB DARUTTAQWA kini berlabuh di Pattaya Bay bersama-sama 13 kapal dari Tentera Laut Diraja Thailand (TLDT) dan 24 kapal lain, dalam acara itu. Bersempena dengan upacara IFR 2017, KDB DARUTTAQWA turut mengambil bahagian dalam ASEAN Maritime National Exercise (AMNEX) yang pertama sekali, di mana fasa laut akan bermula esok. Aktiviti lain yang dirancang untuk diadakan termasuk ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting yang ke-11 dan Majlis Resepsi ASEAN yang telah diadakan kelmarin.
Pagi tadi, Perdana Menteri Thailand, Jeneral Prayut Chan-o-cha telah berada di atas kapal HTMS THALANG bagi pelayaran lalu dan memeriksa perbarisan kapal-kapal yang terlibat dalam upacara IFR tersebut. Turut hadir bagi upacara yang berprestij ini ialah Laksamana Pertama Pg Dato Norazmi bin Pg Muhammad, Pemerintah Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) bersama tetamu-tetamu kehormat yang terdiri daripada Pemerintah-Pemerintah dan perwakilan-perwakilan Angkatan Laut.
KDB DARUTTAQWA akan bertolak dari Pattaya pada 22 November 2017 dan dijadualkan tiba di Negara Brunei Darussalam pada 29 November 2017.
