BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 16 October 2017 – The Ministry of Defence through the Directorate of Development and Works Services (DDWS) today runs a three-day Course on Contract Administration and Claims and Disputes in Engineering and Construction Contracts held at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies.
Officiating the course was Captain (Retired) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, RBN, Permanent Secretary of Defence at the Ministry of Defence. Also present were the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology and Development), Director of DDWS, senior officers, officers and staff of the Ministry of Defence.
The purpose of the courses is to provide the participants with more knowledge on contract administration, claims and disputes, so it may further enhance their roles as contract administrators for procurement. The courses *are* conducted by Mr. Harbans Singh, a Professional and Chartered Engineer. He is currently the Director of HSH Consult Sdn Bhd and a consulting engineer.
A total of 52 participants are taking part in the course comprised of officers from the Attorney General’s Chamber, Corporate and Legal Unit, Centre of Science and Technology Research and Development, DDWS and Directorate of Finance and Acquisition.
KEMENTERIAN PERTAHANAN RASMIKAN PEMBUKAAN KURSUS PENTADBIRAN KONTRAK, TUNTUTAN WANG DAN PERTIKAIAN UNTUK KONTRAK KEJURUTERAAN DAN PEMBINAAN
BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin, 16 Oktober 2017 – Kementerian Pertahanan melalui Jabatanarah Pembangunan dan Perkhidmatan Kerja (JPPK) pada hari ini telah mengadakan Kursus Contract Administration and Claims and Disputes in Engineering and Construction Contracts yang diadakan selama tiga hari di Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Hadir bagi merasmikan kursus tersebut ialah Kepten (B) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, TLDB, Setiausaha Tetap di Kementerian Pertahanan. Turut hadir ialah Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Teknologi dan Pembangunan), Pengarah JPPK, Pegawai-pegawai Kanan, Pegawai-pegawai dan Kakitangan dari Kementerian Pertahanan.
Tujuan kursus-kursus itu ialah untuk menambah baik ilmu dan kefahaman peserta kursus dalam pentadbiran kontrak, tuntutan wang dan pertikaian, bagi meningkatkan lagi peranan mereka sebagai contract administrators for procurement.
Kedua-dua kursus itu dikendalikan oleh Mr. Harbans Singh, Jurutera Profesional dan Berkanun (Chartered), Pengarah HSH Consult Sdn Bhd, jurutera perunding.
Seramai 52 peserta sedang mengikuti kursus itu yang terdiri daripada Jabatan Peguam Negara, Unit Korporat dan Perundangan, Pusat Penyelidikan dan Perkembangan Sains dan Teknologi, JPPK dan Jabatanarah Kewangan dan Perolehan.
