MUARA, Friday, 12 June 2020 – A foreign fishing vessel carrying five fishermen onboard was seized by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ship KDB DARUTTAQWA on 11 June 2020.
The vessel was conducting illegal fishing operations 50 nautical miles from the coast of Brunei Darussalam when it was apprehended by the RBN. The RBN then handed them to the Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force, in the presence of a representative from the Fisheries Department.
This is the first illegal fishing vessel apprehended by RBN this year. Last year, there was a total of three foreign fishing vessels apprehended.
KAPAL NELAYAN ASING DITAHAN TANGKAP SECARA HARAM
MUARA, Jumaat 12 Jun 2020 – Sebuah kapal nelayan asing yang membawa seramai lima nelayan telah ditahan oleh kapal Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) KDB DARUTTAQWA pada 11 Jun 2020.
Kapal tersebut sedang menjalankan penangkapan ikan secara haram di perairan Brunei, kira-kira 50 batu nautika dari persisiran pantai Negara Brunei Darussalam semasa ditangkap. TLDB kemudian telah menyerahkan mereka kepada Polis Marin, Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, dengan kehadiran wakil dari Jabatan Perikanan.
Ini adalah kapal nelayan haram pertama ditahan oleh TLDB pada tahun ini. Pada tahun lalu, tiga buah kapal nelayan asing telah ditangkap.
