MUKIM LUMAPAS, Friday, 17 January 2020 – The Special Forces Regiment emerged as champion in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Men’s Orienteering Competition held at Kampung Putat Primary School, Mukim Lumapas by collecting 4570 points.
The first runner-up went to Royal Brunei Land Force with 4430 points while Ministry of Defence came in third place with 3715 points.
There were six participating teams in total, which were the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF), Ministry of Defence and Special Force Regiment (SFR). The teams competed in two main categories which comprised of team and individual events.
In the Individual categories, the category for those aged 40 years old and above was won by 12561 Staff Sergeant Othman. 15739 Staff Sergeant Sardi won the category for 35 to 39 years old. 19092 Corporal Ak Abdul Halim and 51514 Lance Corporal Abdul Aziz won the categories for 30 to 34 years old, and 29 years old and below respectively.
The Orienteering Competition is aimed to test their map reading skills as well as their mental and physical endurance. In this competition, the participants were tasked to find allocated check points within a given time period.
Present as the guest of honour was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of RBAF whom awarded the winners with prizes. Also present were Service Commanders, senior officers and other RBAF personnel.
RPK JUARA PERLAWANAN MERINTIS LELAKI PERINGKAT ABDB 2019/2020
MUKIM LUMAPAS, Jumaat, 17 Januari 2020 – Rejimen Pasukan Khas (RPK) muncul juara di perlawanan merintis lelaki peringkat Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) di Sekolah Rendah Kampung Putat, Mukim Lumapas dengan mengumpul sebanyak 4570 mata.
Naib johan dimenangi oleh Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) dengan 4430 mata manakala Kementerian Pertahanan di tempat ketiga dengan mengumpul 3715 mata.
Pasukan yang ikut serta terdiri dari Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB), Kementerian Pertahanan dan Rejimen Pasukan Khas (RPK). Perlawanan ini mengandungi dua kategori utama iaitu acara berpasukan dan acara individu.
Bagi kategori individu, Kategori 40 tahun ke atas dimenangi oleh 12561 Staf Sarjan Othman. Sementara 15739 Staf Sarjan Sardi memenangi kategori 35 ke 40 tahun; 19092 Koperal Ak Abdul Halim bagi Kategori 30 ke 34 tahun dan 51514 Lans Koperal Abdul Aziz bagi Kategori 29 tahun ke bawah.
Perlawanan Merintis ini adalah bertujuan untuk menguji kemahiran membaca peta mereka dan pada masa yang sama menguji ketahanan mental dan fizikal mereka. Di dalam perlawanan ini, peserta-peserta diberikan masa yang terhad untuk mencari ‘check points’ yang telah ditetapkan.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat untuk menyampaikan hadiah ialah Pemerintah ABDB, Mejar Jeneral Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.
Turut hadir ialah Pemerintah-Pemerintah Tentera, pegawai-pegawai kanan dan anggota-anggota ABDB.
