GADONG, Friday, 23 August 2019 – The Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Colonel (U) Abdul Rahman bin Haji Durahman, officiated the closing ceremony of the 6th AAFET that was held since 19 August 2019.

During the AAFET exercise, delegates were afforded a range of activities which included a Flight Safety Briefing by Aerossurance from the United Kingdom, Sharing of Experience by Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) from the Royal Thai Air Force, Table Top Exercise (TTX) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Recap. The highlight of the exercise was the Simulation Assisted Table Top Exercise (SATTX) utilising the ASEAN Air Forces’ SOP for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.

Additionally, the exercise’s focus on Aircraft Arrival and Departure, dan HADR Cargo Handling and Delivery was intended to ensure the practical application and validity of the SOP amendments that were made during the previous 5th AAFET. During the highlight of the SATTX, a practical simulation for provision of air support within the Brunei Air Base Drop Zone was conducted by utilising the combination of assets from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and RBAirF. 

The simulation displayed the coordination of supply for relief aids to inaccessible areas due to damages caused by natural disaster which summarised the efficiency and effectiveness of the SOP for its future potential use.

The guest of honour concluded the ceremony with a closing remark, along with the plaque and certification presentation to all Heads of Delegation, followed by a group photo session.

In the same morning, the guest of honour was also at hand to witness the handing over of duties by the Chairman of the 6th AAFET by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, RBAirF Head of Inspectorate Unit to the Head of Delegate of Socialist Republic of Vietnam who will be the 7th AAFET hosting country which will commence the Counter Terrorism (CT) training narrative.


PENUTUP 6th ASEAN AIR FORCES’ EDUCATION AND TRAINING (AAFET)

GADONG, Jumaat, 23 Ogos 2019 – Kolonel (U) Abdul Rahman bin Haji Durahman, Timbalan Pemerintah Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) telah menutup tirai 6th AAFET yang bermula 19 Ogos 2019.

Pada latihan kali ini, kesemua anggota telah diberikan kesempatan menjalani latihan-latihan seperti Sesi Taklimat mengenai Keselamatan Penerbangan yang telah disampaikan oleh Aerossurance dari United Kingdom, Sesi Taklimat mengenai Pengalaman Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) yang telah disampaikan oleh para-para anggota dari Tentera Udara Diraja Thailand, Table Top Exercise (TTX) dan sesi Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Recap. Manakala, kemuncak latihan ialah pengendalian Simulation Assisted Table Top Exercise (SATTX) menggunakan ASEAN Air Forces’ SOP for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.

Antara lain, penumpuan khusus kepada Aircraft Arrival and Departure, dan HADR Cargo Handling and Delivery adalah bertujuan bagi memastikan kesinambungan pada perubahan Prosedur Tetap (ProTap) yang diusulkan pada 5th AAFET yang lepas diujicuba untuk digunapakai seterusnya. Dalam kemuncak latihan SATTX, penggunaan simulasi di kawasan ‘Drop Zone’ Pangkalan TUDB menggunakan gabungan aset Tentera Udara Republik Singapura (TURS) dan TUDB dalam menjalankan bantuan penerbangan bantuan bekalan udara (aerial cargo dropping). Simulasi ini bertujuan memperlihatkan pertunjukkan koordinasi pengagihan dan pembekalan udara ke tempat-tempat yang tidak mempunyai laluan akses darat disebabkan kerosakan musibah bencana alam. Latihan ini telah dijalankan dengan jayanya seterusnya mensahihkan keberkesanan ProTap tersebut.

Di upacara penutup tersebut, beliau selaku Tetamu Kehormat Majlis telah memberikan ucapan penutup diselajurkan dengan penyampaian cenderahati memento berbentuk plaque dan sijil penghargaan kepada kesemua Ketua-Ketua Delegasi Tentera Udara Negara ASEAN, diselajurkan dengan sesi bergambar ramai.

Pada majlis tersebut, beliau telah juga berpeluang menyaksikan sesi serah terima amanah selaku hos bagi 7th AAFET oleh Pengerusi Latihan 6th AAFET pada tahun ini iaitu Leftenan Kolonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, Ketua Inspektorat TUDB, kepada Ketua Delegasi Republik Sosialis Vietnam bagi naratif latihan seterusnya iaitu Counter Terrorism (CT).
