TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 20 August 2019 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) is hosting the 6th ASEAN Air Forces’ Education and Training (AAFET) in Brunei Darussalam from 20 to 24 August 2019.
The exercise which is held every year composed of 31 delegates from all ASEAN Air Forces. Officiating the opening ceremony of the 6th AAFET today was the guest of honour and the chairman of this year’s 6th AAFET, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, RBAirF Head of Inspectorate Unit.
The ceremony commenced with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Mohd Said bin Haji Muhd Yusof, RBAirF Religious Officer, followed by the opening remarks from the guest of honour and subsequently the official opening of the exercise and a group photo session.
This year’s theme of ‘Elevating ASEAN Solidarity through Practical Cooperation’ will utilise Brunei Darussalam’s need for humanitarian assistance from neighbouring ASEAN Air Forces’ during a natural disaster. This exercise will aim to continue and conclude the HADR practicum executed during the 5th AAFET held last year in Singapore.
The purpose of this exercise is to strengthen ties with neighbouring ASEAN Air Forces through practical cooperation. The exercise encourages fruitful exchange of ideas through best practices and experiences between all ASEAN Air Forces. The training objective is targeted to enhance interoperability and coordination amongst participating countries in a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) scenario.
A pioneer initiative during the exercise will be the inclusion of the ASEAN Air Forces’ Sergeant Major Interaction Programme to add further value through the relationship between non-commissioned officers of the ASEAN Air Forces.
PEMBUKAAN 6th ASEAN AIR FORCES’ EDUCATION AND TRAINING
TANAH JAMBU, Selasa, 20 Ogos 2019 – Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) menjadi hos kepada 6th AAFET bertempat di Brunei Darussalam bermula pada 20 hingga 24 Ogos 2019.
Latihan yang lazimnya dijalankan setiap tahun ini terdiri dari sejumlah 31 anggota dari kesemua Tentera Udara Negara ASEAN. Majlis Perasmian Pembukaan latihan telah disempurnakan oleh tetamu kehormat yang juga selaku Pengerusi Latihan 6th AAFET pada tahun ini iaitu Leftenan Kolonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, Ketua Inspektorat TUDB.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah yang dipimpin oleh Ustaz Mohd Said bin Haji Muhd Yusof,, Guru Agama TUDB, diikuti dengan ucapan tetamu kehormat seterusnya merasmikan pembukaan latihan dan sesi bergambar ramai.
Tema latihan pada tahun ini adalah ‘Elevating ASEAN Solidarity Through Practical Cooperation’, yang berkonsepkan Bantuan Kemanusiaan dan Bencana (HADR) yang mana Negara Brunei Darussalam memerlukan bantuan dari Tentera Udara Negara ASEAN yang lain semasa dilanda musibah bencana alam. Latihan bertujuan untuk menutup tirai konsep latihan yang dihoskan oleh Tentera Udara Republik Singapura (TURS) pada tahun lepas.
Tujuan latihan ini dijalankan adalah bagi mempertingkatkan lagi hubungan komuniti Tentera Udara Negara ASEAN, dan memberikan peluang ruang bertukar-tukar fikiran melalui pengalaman dan best practices dalam sama-sama meningkatkan kerjasama serta interoperability dalam mengendalikan musibah bencana alam.
Antara inisiatif baru yang akan dirancangkan pada latihan kali ini ialah tambahan interaksi di antara pegawai waran bagi menambah nilai hubungan antara Tentera Udara Negara ASEAN serantau.
