BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 29 April 2019 – The Second Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof this afternoon received separate introductory calls from His Excellency Krzysztof Debnicki, non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Brunei Darussalam and His Excellency George Bhitar Ghanem, non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic to Brunei Darussalam.
During the call with His Excellency Krzysztof Debnicki, the Second Minister of Defence congratulated His Excellency on his appointment as the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Brunei Darussalam. Both sides also acknowledged the general friendly diplomatic relations between both countries and agreed that defence cooperation can be explored further within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the Development of Mutual Defence Relations signed back in 2013.
Following the conclusion of the call with the Republic of Poland, the Second Minister of Defence subsequently received His Excellency George Bhitar Ghanem, non-resident Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Brunei Darussalam and also congratulated His Excellency on his appointment. Both sides acknowledged the existing interactions between Brunei Darussalam and the Lebanese Republic, which is enabled by Brunei Darussalam’s peacekeeping contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) since 2008.
His Excellency Krzysztof Debnicki and His Excellency George Bhitar Ghanem presented their Letters of Credence to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at Istana Nurul Iman earlier this morning.
MENTERI PERTAHANAN KEDUA TERIMA KUNJUNGAN PENGENALAN DUTA BESAR POLAND DAN REPUBLIK LUBNAN KE NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin 29 April 2019. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md. Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua, pada petang tadi telah menerima dua kunjungan hormat secara berasingan daripada Tuan Yang Terutama Krzysztof Debnicki, Duta Besar Mutlak dan Istimewa Republik Poland yang tidak menetap ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Tuan Yang Terutama George Bhitar Ghanem, Duta Besar Mutlak dan Istimewa Republik Lubnan yang tidak menetap ke Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Semasa kunjungan pengenalan bersama Tuan Yang Terutama Krzysztof Debnicki, Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua mengucapkan tahniah atas pelantikan beliau. Kedua belah pihak juga merakamkan kegembiraan di atas hubungan diplomatik yang baik diantara kedua buah negara dan juga bersetuju agar kerjasama pertahanan ditinjau dengan lebih lanjut dibawah rangka kerja Memorandum Persefahaman dalam bidang pertahanan yang telah ditandatangani pada tahun 2013.
Sejurus tamatnya kunjungan pengenalan dari pihak Republik Poland, Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua telah menerima kunjungan hormat dari Tuan Yang Terutama George Bhitar Ghanem, Duta Besar Republik Lubnan yang tidak menetap ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan turut mengucapkan tahniah atas pelantikan beliau. Kedua belah pihak telah menggariskan hubungan yang sedia ada di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Lubnan, terutama sekali sumbangan anggota Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei bagi operasi pengaman
United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) sejak tahun 2008.
Tuan Yang Terutama Krzysztof Debnicki dan Tuan Yang Terutama George Bhitar Ghanem telah menyembahkan Surat Watikah Pelantikan Kehadapan Majlis Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam pada pagi tadi di Istana Nurul Iman.
