WELLINGTON, Friday, 22 July 2022 – Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) made an official introductory visit to New Zealand from 21 to 23 July 2022.


The official visit started with a visit to the Defence House, New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) where the Commander of the RBAF was welcomed by the Guard of Honour comprising NZDF personnel. He then made a courtesy call to Air Marshal Kevin Short, Chief of Defence Force (CDF) of the NZDF. During the call, both sides acknowledged the close bilateral defence ties between the RBAF and NZDF as well as discussed on their commitment to further explore engagement opportunities in areas of mutual benefit and interest, while contributing to the peace and stability of the region.


The Commander of RBAF also attended a Defence Meeting with key senior officers of the NZDF, chaired by the CDF NZDF where current operations and priorities of both armed forces were discussed. He also visited the Headquarters Joint Forces New Zealand (HQJFNZ) as well as the Waiouru Military Camp where he had the opportunity to visit the Army Marae, Army Museum and the Officer Cadet School. During his visit to Waiouru, he was welcomed in a traditional Māori welcoming ceremony known as the Pōwhiri. The Commander of RBAF and delegation were also invited to an official dinner hosted by the Chief of Defence Force of the NZDF, which was attended by key senior officials of the NZDF.


The official visit highlights the warm and cordial bilateral defence relationship between Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand fostered through interaction on various platforms of cooperation including high-level visits, military exercises in both countries, as well as training and courses. 


Following his official visit to New Zealand, the RBAF Commander will be attending the 24th Annual Chiefs of Defense (CHOD) Conference 2022 in Sydney, Australia. 




PEMERINTAH ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI MENGADAKAN LAWATAN RASMI KE NEW ZEALAND


WELLINGTON, Juma’at, 22 Julai 2022 – Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah mengadakan lawatan rasmi ke New Zealand dari 21 hingga 23 Julai 2022. 


Memulakan lawatan rasmi tersebut, Pemerintah ABDB telah berkunjung ke
Defence House
di mana beliau diberikan tabik hormat daripada anggota-anggota
New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) sebelum memeriksa Kawalan Kehormatan. Pemerintah ABDB juga berkesempatan untuk mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada
Air Marshal Kevin Short, Pemerintah,
New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). Semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut, kedua belah pihak mengiktirafkan hubungan pertahanan dua hala yang erat di antara ABDB dan NZDF, serta membincangkan komitmen bagi meningkatkan peluang berinteraksi dalam bidang kepentingan bersama sambil menyumbang kearah keamanan dan kestabilan serantau. 


Pemerintah ABDB juga menghadiri Mesyuarat Pertahanan bersama pegawai-pegawai kanan utama NZDF, yang dihoskan oleh
Air Marshal Kevin Short. Semasa mesyuarat berkenaan, kedua belah pihak telah membincangkan beberapa isu penting merangkumi operasi dan keutamaan ABDB dan NZDF.


Pemerintah ABDB turut berkesempatan untuk membuat kunjungan ke Markas Angkatan Bersama NZDF serta Perkhemahan Tentera Waiouru. Ketika lawatan beliau ke Waiouru, beliau telah berkunjung ke beberapa tempat seperti
Army Marae,
Army Museum dan Sekolah Pegawai Kadet. Pemerintah ABDB juga telah disambut dengan upacara tradisional Māori yang dikenali sebagai Pōwhiri. Rombongan ABDB juga turut dijemput ke majlis makan malam rasmi yang dihoskan oleh Pemerintah NZDF dan dihadiri oleh pegawai-pegawai kanan utama NZDF.


Lawatan rasmi Pemerintah ABDB mencerminkan hubungan pertahanan dua hala yang mesra dan erat di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan New Zealand yang dipupuk melalui interaksi di pelbagai platform kerjasama termasuk kunjungan rasmi, latihan ketenteraan di kedua negeri, serta latihan dan kursus. 


Setelah mengakhiri lawatan rasmi ke New Zealand, Pemerintah ABDB akan turut menghadiri
24th Annual Chiefs of Defense
(CHOD)
Conference 2022
di Sydney Australia.
