BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 13 June 2022 – Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Deputy Minister of Defence, received a courtesy call from Mr Derek Chollet, Counselor of the United States Department of State this afternoon.
During the call, the Deputy Minister of Defence and Counselor Chollet reaffirmed the steadfast bilateral defence and military relations, and commended the conduct of Exercise PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 between the Royal Brunei Land Force and the U.S. Army Pacific from 13 to 24 June 2022, where Counselor Chollet witnessed the opening ceremony of Exercise PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 earlier today. Both sides also spoke about the informal meeting between U.S. and Southeast Asian Defence Ministers that was held on the side-lines of the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue on 10 June 2022, which both Deputy Minister of Defence and Counselor Chollet attended.
Counselor Chollet is currently in Brunei Darussalam as part of a three-country tour to the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam from 7 to 14 June 2022 to follow up on the outcomes of the US-ASEAN Special Summit in Washington, D.C., and to discuss a range of bilateral and multilateral issues with Bruneian senior officials.
TIMBALAN MENTERI PERTAHANAN MENERIMA KUNJUNGAN HORMAT DARIPADA COUNSELOR OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE
BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin, 13 Jun 2022 – Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, telah menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Mr Derek Chollet, Counselor of the United States Department of State pada petang ini.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan dan Counselor Chollet mengesahkan semula hubungan pertahanan dan ketenteraan yang teguh, serta berpuas hati atas pelaksanaan Eksesais PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 di antara Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei dan US Army Pacific pada 13 hingga 24 Jun 2022, yang mana Kaunselor Chollet menyaksikan upacara perasmian Eksesais PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 pada hari yang sama. Kedua-dua belah pihak juga membincangkan Mesyuarat Menteri-Menteri Pertahanan negara-negara Asia Tenggara dan Amerika Syarikat yang telah diadakan di samping 19th Shangri-La Dialogue pada 10 Jun 2022, yang turut dihadiri oleh Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan dan Counselor Chollet.
Counselor Chollet kini berada di Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi lawatan ke tiga buah negara iaitu Kerajaan Thailand, Republik Singapura dan Negara Brunei Darussalam pada 7 hingga 14 Jun 2022 untuk membuat susulan ke atas hasil Sidang Kemuncak Khas ASEAN-Amerika Syarikat di Washington, D.C., dan untuk membincangkan isu-isu dua hala dan pelbagai hala dengan pegawai-pegawai kanan Kerajaan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
