BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday, 01 June 2022 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Defence II received an introductory call from Commodore Nasir Mahmood TI (M), the Defence Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
accredited to
Brunei Darussalam this afternoon.
During the call, Yang Berhormat Minister of Defence II congratulated Commodore Nasir Mahmood on his appointment as the new Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei Darussalam
who is based in Malaysia. Both sides
discussed the
bilateral defence relations,
which continue to be promoted through the Joint Defence Working Committee co-chaired by Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, exchanges of visits,
training and courses.
Yang Berhormat Minister of Defence II
expressed his hope to further strengthening the bilateral defence relationship from both sides in the field of defence and military cooperation.
Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan also interacts through different
multilateral fora such as the ASEAN Regional Forum Defence Officials’ Dialogue and the ASEAN Regional Forum Security Policy Conference.

Commodore Nasir Mahmood TI (M),
Penasihat Pertahanan Republik Islam Pakistan yang diakreditasi ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, petang ini.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua telah
menyampaikan ucapan tahniah
kepada Commodore Nasir Mahmood di atas pelantikan
baharu beliau sebagai Penasihat Pertahanan Republik Islam Pakistan yang ke Negara Brunei Darussalam yang
beribu pejabat di Malaysia. Kedua-dua belah pihak
seterusnya membincangkan hubungan pertahanan
dua hala yang terus dipertingkatkan melalui Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Kerja Pertahanan Bersama
yang dipengerusikan bersama oleh Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Islam Pakistan, pertukaran lawatan,
kursus dan latihan.
Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua
juga menzahirkan harapan untuk meningkatkan keakraban hubungan pertahanan antara kedua-dua
buah negara dalam kerjasama tentera dan pertahanan.
Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Islam Pakistan turut
berinteraksi
melalui beberapa forum
pelbagai hala seperti ASEAN Regional Forum Defence Officials’ Dialogue dan
ASEAN Regional Forum Security Policy Conference.
