Doa Selamat event was held for the deployment of the 18th International Monitoring Team Mindanao Negara Brunei Darussalam (IMT-M NBD) and the 4th Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT) at
Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison this morning.
Present at the event were Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Sulaiman bin Alidin, Deputy Commissioner of Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF); Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, senior leadership,
defence representatives from diplomatic missions in Brunei Darussalam, officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
The 18th IMT-M NBD contingent is led by Commander Md Zouhdy bin Haji Abd Razak, RBN and comprises four RBAF officers and an officer from RBPF, while the 4th IDB VMAT contingent is led by Lieutenant Colonel Hairin bin Japar and comprises three RBAF officers. The contingents will depart for Mindanao, the Republic of the Philippines on 21 March 2022.
The event was organised together with the weekly Ministry of Defence and RBAF
Halaqah Jumaat event and began with the recitation of verses from the holy Al-Quran followed by a
Tazkirah. The event proceeded with the presentation of ‘Buku Perwira’ as a token of appreciation for the contingent, and concluded with
Sunat Dhuha prayers.
RBAF has participated in the International Monitoring Team in Mindanao since 2004 and IDB VMAT since 2019 as their commitment towards regional and international peace and security. This international mission is in line with the country’s aspirations underscored in the Brunei Darussalam Defence White Papers. These peacekeeping missions are an important investment not only for the image of RBAF and the personnel involved, but also for the country in the context of defence diplomacy.

BOLKIAH GARISON, Jumaat, 18 Mac 2022 - Majlis Doa Selamat bagi pemergian Pasukan Pemantau Antarabangsa Mindanao Negara Brunei Darussalam (PPA-M NBD) ke-18 dan
Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT) ke-4 telah diadakan di Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garison pagi ini.
Hadir pada majlis tersebut ialah Brigedier Jeneral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Pemangku Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB); Yang Mulia Sulaimin bin Alidin, Timbalan Pesuruhjaya Polis Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei (PPDB); Pemangku Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan, peringkat kepimpinan,
tetamu-tetamu dari perwakilan pertahanan di Negara Brunei Darussalam, serta warga Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Kontinjen PPA-M NBD ke-18 diketuai oleh Komander Md Zouhdy bin Haji Abd Razak,TLDB dan terdiri daripada empat orang pegawai ABDB dan seorang pegawai PPDB, manakala Kontinjen IDB VMAT ke-4 diketuai oleh Leftenan Kolonel Hairin bin Japar dan disertai oleh tiga orang pegawai ABDB. Kontinjen berkenaan akan bertolak ke Mindanao, Republik Filipina pada 21 Mac 2022.
Majlis tersebut diselaraskan dengan acara Halaqah Jumaat mingguan Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB iaitu dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran dan Tazkirah. Majlis diikuti dengan penyampaian cenderahati berupa ‘Buku Perwira’ kepada ahli-ahli kontinjen, dan diakhiri dengan sembahyang Sunat Dhuha.
ABDB telah mengikuti Pasukan Pemantau Antarabangsa di Mindanao sejak tahun 2004 dan IDB VMAT sejak tahun 2019 dalam memberi komitmen yang berterusan ke arah keamanan dan kestabilan serantau dan antarabangsa. Misi luar negara ini adalah selaras dengan aspirasi yang telah digariskan dalam Kertas-Kertas Putih Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam. Misi pengaman ini telah menghasilkan pelaburan yang besar, bukan sahaja bagi imej ABDB dan anggota-anggota yang terlibat, malahan juga bagi negara konteks bidang diplomasi pertahanan.
