BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday, 29 September 2021 – Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), convened a video conference with Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son,
the outgoing Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan, the incoming Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam this morning.
Also present were the RBAF Chief of Staff and Director of Intelligence.
During the call, the Commander RBAF expressed his appreciation to Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son for his cooperation and contribution during his tenure as the
Defence Attaché
of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam in coordinating bilateral cooperation between both countries, as well as welcomed
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan as the new Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam. Both sides acknowledged the value of partnership with Vietnam on regional security, aside from the cordial bilateral diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son was appointed as the Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam in 2017, whilst Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan has taken over the post since May 2021.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son,
mantan Atase Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan kunjungan pengenalan daripada
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan, Atase Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam yang baru pada pagi ini.
Turut hadir adalah Ketua Staf ABDB dan Pengarah Perisikan.
Semasa perjumpaan tersebut, Pemerintah ABDB meluahkan rasa penghargaannya kepada
Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son atas kerjasama dan sumbangan beliau sebagai Atase Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam
di sepanjang tempoh perkhidmatan beliau dalam mengkoordinasi kerjasama dua hala di antara kedua buah negara, dan seterusnya mengalu-alukan
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan selaku Atase Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam yang baru. Kedua belah pihak juga mengakui nilai persahabatan bersama Vietnam pada sekuriti serantau, di samping hubungan diplomatik dua hala yang mesra di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Sosialis Republik Vietnam.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Thien Son telah dilantik sebagai
Atase Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam sejak tahun 2017 dan
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan telah mula mengambil alih perjawatan tersebut sejak bulan Mei 2021.
