KUALA BELAIT, Saturday, 31 July 2021 – Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) visited the Labi Training Area to witness the culmination of Exercise Hikmat Bersatu VI (HB VI) as participants geared towards the final suppression against the enemy force, marking the end of HB VI Exercise.
This year’s exercise demonstrated that the RBAF’s operations in a joint environment have further strengthened and was deemed effective at both tactical and operational levels since the establishment of the Joint Force Headquarters, particularly in countering non-traditional security threats. The exercise also involved participants from other government agencies, as well as collaboration with the Gurkha Reserve Unit, Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Regiment (RBMRR), Second Battalion of the Royal Gurkha Rifles and the British Forces Brunei in an effort to support national development through the whole-of-nation approach.
This year marks the sixth series of Exercise Hikmat Bersatu since its inception in 2003 aiming to provide comprehensive training opportunities for the RBAF in a realistic contemporary scenario that focuses on non-traditional security threats such as counter-terrorism as well as to assess and validate RBAF’s operational readiness at the tactical and operational levels.
PEMERINTAH ABDB SAKSIKAN SERANGAN AKHIR EKSESAIS HIKMAT BERSATU VI
KUALA BELAIT, Sabtu, 31 Julai 2021 – Mejar Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah membuat lawatan ke Kawasan Latihan Labi bagi menyaksikan serangan akhir Eksesais Hikmat Bersatu VI (HB VI) ketika peserta bergerak bagi penumpasan terakhir terhadap kekuatan musuh, yang menandakan berakhirnya Eksesais HB VI.
Eksesais pada tahun ini telah menunjukkan operasi ketenteraan ABDB secara bersama telahpun meningkat dan dinilai efektif pada peringkat taktikal dan operasional semenjak penubuhan Markas Angkatan Bersama ABDB, khususnya dalam menangani ancaman sekuriti bukan tradisional. Eksesais ini juga melibatkan beberapa agensi kerajaan serta kolaborasi bersama Pasukan Simpanan Gurkha, Askar Simpanan Melayu Diraja Brunei (ASMDB), Batalion Kedua Royal Gurkha Rifles dan British Forces Brunei dalam usahasama untuk menyokong dan menyumbang kepada pertahanan negara secara pendekatan whole-of-nation.
Eksesais pada tahun ini merupakan kali ke-enam sejak ianya mula dilaksanakan pada tahun 2003 yang bertujuan untuk memberikan peluang latihan yang komprehensif bagi ABDB, tertumpu kepada senario kontemporari yang realistik terutama sekali ancaman sekuriti kontemporari termasuk ancaman bukan tradisional seperti counterterrorism serta untuk menguji dan mengesahkan keupayaan ABDB di tahap taktikal dan operasi.
