BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday, 25 November 2020 – Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a farewell call from Colonel Jose Ricky A.Laniog, the Defense and Armed Forces Attache of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam this morning. Also in attendance were RBAF Chief of Staff and Director of Intelligence.
During the call, RBAF Commander expressed his pleasure for the opportunities enjoyed by both countries to interact through meetings, conferences and symposiums namely Chief of Defence Forces (CHOD) in August 2020, 17th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting and 1st Brunei-Philippines Army Working Group (BRUPHIL AWG) in September 2020.
Both sides also agreed that the pandemic COVID-19 did not stop both countries to interact and further nurture the existing relationship by conducting meetings online. RBAF Commander then wished Colonel Jose Ricky A. Laniog a very good luck for his future endeavours.
Colonel Jose Ricky A.Laniog was appointed as the Defense and Armed Forces Attache of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam since November 2017, replacing the former attache, Colonel Ernest Mark P. Rosal.
PEMERINTAH ABDB TERIMA KUNJUNGAN PERPISAHAN ATASE PERTAHANAN DAN ANGKATAN TENTERA REPUBLIK FILIPINA KE NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
BOLKIAH GARISON, Rabu, 25 November 2020 – Mejar Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah menerima kunjungan perpisahan daripada Kolonel Jose Ricky A.Laniog, Atase Pertahanan dan Angkatan Tentera Republik Filipina ke Negara Brunei Darussalam pagi ini. Turut hadir adalah Ketua Staf ABDB dan Pengarah Perisikan.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Pemerintah ABDB meluahkan rasa syukur di atas peluang yang dinikmati oleh kedua-dua negara untuk berinteraksi melalui mesyuarat, persidangan dan symposium seperti Chief of Defence Forces (CHOD) yang diadakan pada bulan Ogos 2020, ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting ke-17 Meeting dan Brunei-Philippines Army Working Group (BRUPHIL AWG) yang julung kalinya diadakan pada bulan September 2020.
Kedua-dua pihak juga bersetuju bahawa situasi pandemik COVID-19 tidak menghalang kedua-dua buah negara untuk berinteraksi dan mengeratkan hubungan yang sedia ada dengan mengendalikan mesyuarat-mesyuarat secara dalam talian. Pemerintah ABDB seterusnya mendoakan kejayaan Kolonel Jose Ricky A.Laniog di masa hadapan.
Kolonel Jose Ricky A.Laniog telah dilantik sebagai Atase Pertahanan dan Angkatan Tentera Republik Filipina ke Negara Brunei Darussalam sejak bulan November 2017 bagi menggantikan atase yang terdahulu, Kolonel Ernest Mark P. Rosal.
