BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 5 November 2020 – Major General (Udara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) convened a video teleconference with General Angus J. Campbell, Chief of the Defence Force, Australian Defence Force today.
Also present were RBAF Chief of Staff and Director of Intelligence.
During the call, both countries expressed their gratitude for the active interactions between Australian Defence Force (ADF) and RBAF, particularly with the first official port visit by a submarine namely HMAS Dechaineux to Brunei Darussalam on 07 March 2020, as well as the arrival of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) P-8 Poseidon Aircraft for Exercise Penguin that took place from 29 June 2020 to 14 July 2020.
The Commander of RBAF then expressed his confidence that the Exercise Penguin has further strengthen the defence bilateral relations and appreciation
for the ADF’s contribution towards the longstanding friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia.
PEMERINTAH ABDB ADAKAN PERJUMPAAN SECARA ATAS TALIAN BERSAMA CHIEF OF THE DEFENCE FORCE, AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE
BOLKIAH GARISON, Khamis 5 November 2020 – Mejar Jeneral (Udara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah mengadakan perjumpaan secara atas talian bersama Jeneral Angus J. Campbell,
Chief of the Defence Force, Australian Defence Force hari ini.
Turut hadir adalah Ketua Staf ABDB dan Pengarah Perisikan.
Semasa perjumpaan tersebut, kedua-dua belah pihak melahirkan rasa syukur di atas interaksi yang aktif di antara
Australian Defence Force (ADF) dan ABDB, khususnya dengan lawatan kerja
HMAS Dechaineux iaitu kapal selam pertama yang berlabuh di Negara Brunei Darussalam pada 07 Mac 2020, serta ketibaan
Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) P-8 Poseidon Aircraft semasa Eksesais Penguin bermula dari 29 Jun 2020 hingga 14 Julai 2020.
Pemerintah ABDB kemudiannya meluahkan keyakinan bahawa Eksesais Penguin telah memperkukuhkan lagi hubungan pertahanan dua hala dan seterusnya menghargai sumbangan
ADF dalam hubungan rapat yang sudah lama terjalin di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Australia.
