PHILIPPINES, Tuesday, 16 May 2023 – KDB DARUTTAQWA and KDB AFIAT of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) had successfully participated in the 2nd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise 2023 (AMNEX 2/2023) and the ASEAN Fleet Review (AFR) held in conjunction with the 17th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting hosted by the Philippine Navy which was held at Subic Bay, Philippines from the 11th to 16th May 2023.
AMNEX 2/2023 began with the conduct of the ASEAN Fleet Review (AFR) on 11 May 2023 and followed by the Harbour Phase on 12 May 2023. The Harbour Phase consisted of the Opening Ceremony, Cultural Night, several sporting events and coordination meetings between participating ships for the exercise.
The Sea Phase was executed in the vicinity of Subic Bay from 13 to 14 May 2023 involving multiple ASEAN naval ships namely, KDB DARUTTAQWA and KDB AFIAT from the RBN, BRP ANTONIO LUNA and BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO from the Philippine Navy, RSS SUPREME from the Republic of Singapore Navy, KRI I GUSTI NGURAH RAI from the Indonesian Navy, KD LEKIU from the Royal Malaysian Navy, HTMS PATTANI from the Royal Thai Navy and VPNS TRAN HUNG DAO from the Viet Nam People’s Navy.
With the aim to further strengthening the existing relations between the navies of the ASEAN countries, all participating nations have contributed to the successful conduct of AMNEX 2/2023 thereby enhancing the degree of cooperation and interoperability between ASEAN Navies. RBN’s participation in AMNEX 2/2023 highlights its continued commitment to regional security and stability, as well as its readiness to work with other navies in the region towards achieving common goals.
KDB DARUTTAQWA DAN KDB AFIAT MENYERTAI ASEAN MULTILATERAL NAVAL EXERCISE KE-2 (AMNEX 2/2023) DAN ASEAN FLEET REVIEW (AFR)
REPUBLIK FILIPINA, Selasa, 16 Mei 2023 – KDB DARUTTAQWA dan KDB AFIAT dari Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) telah berjaya menyertai ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise ke-2 (AMNEX 2/2023) dan ASEAN Fleet Review (AFR) sempena mesyuarat ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting ke-17 yang dikendalikan oleh Tentera Laut Filipina di Subic Bay, Republik Filipina bermula dari 11 hingga 16 Mei 2023.
AMNEX 2/2023 bermula dengan pengendalian ASEAN Fleet Review (AFR) pada 11 Mei 2023 lalu diikuti dengan Fasa Perlabuhan pada 12 Mei 2023. Fasa Perlabuhan merangkumi Majlis Perasmian, Malam Kebudayaan, beberapa acara sukan dan juga mesyuarat koordinasi di antara kapal-kapal yang menyertai latihan tersebut.
Fasa Laut dikendalikan di Subic Bay dari 13 hingga 14 Mei 2023 dan melibatkan beberapa kapal angkatan tentera laut ASEAN seperti KDB DARUTTAQWA dan KDB AFIAT dari TLDB, BRP ANTONIO LUNA dan BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO dari Tentera Laut Filipina, RSS SUPREME dari Tentera Laut Republik Singapura, KRI I GUSTI NGURAH RAI dari Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut, KD LEKIU dari Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia, HTMS PATTANI dari Tentera Laut Diraja Thailand, dan VPNS TRAN HUNG DAO dari Tentera Laut Rakyat Viet Nam.
Dengan matlamat untuk mengukuhkan lagi hubungan di antara angkatan- tentera laut negara-negara ASEAN, kesemua negara yang mengambil bahagian telahpun menyumbang kepada kejayaan perlaksanaan AMNEX 2/2023 sekaligus menguatkan tahap kerjasama dan kebolehan dalam operasi di antara angkatan tentera laut negara-negara ASEAN. Penyertaan TLDB dalam AMNEX 2/2023 mencerminkan komitmen yang berterusan terhadap keamanan dan kestabilan serantau dan juga kesediaan untuk bekerjasama dengan angkatan tentera laut yang lain ke arah mencapai matlamat bersama.
