REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 – The 27th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) that was hosted by the Singapore Army from 6 November 2017 onwards, concluded today.
Brigadier General Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) attended the closing ceremony of the AARM. He also participated in the Novelty pistol shoot with all of the ASEAN Army Chiefs, and came in second place.
The RBLF shooting team participated in all disciplines – Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol Ladies, Pistol Men and Rifle and won 6th place overall. In the General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) Team Match, Lance Corporal Mohd Erwan bin Mohd Hilmi and Lance Corporal Samsul bin Sulong succeeded in obtaining bronze, which was presented by Major General Melvyn Ong Su Kiat, Chief of Singapore Army.
This year, the Indonesian Army emerged champion of the 27th AARM, followed by the Royal Thai Army and the Philippines Army in the second and third places respectively.
The AARM is an annual shooting competition participated by all ten ASEAN armies – and it also provides the platform for the militaries to interact, and strengthen their camaraderie amongst each other. The 28th AARM will be held in Malaysia.
PERLAWANAN MENEMBAK ASEAN KE-27 DI REPUBLIK SINGAPURA BERAKHIR
REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, Rabu 22 November 2017 – Perlawanan menembak ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) kali ke-27 yang dihoskan oleh Tentera Darat Singapura dari 6 November 2017, berakhir pada hari ini.
Brigadier Jeneral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud, Pemerintah Tentera Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghadiri majlis penutup AARM di mana beliau turut mengambil bahagian dalam perlawanan pistol Novelty bersama semua Pemerintah Tentera Darat negara-negara ASEAN dan meraih tempat kedua.
Pasukan penembak TDDB menyertai semua lima acara iaitu Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol Kumpulan Lelaki dan Pistol Kumpulan Wanita serta Rifle dan mendapat tempat ke-enam (6) secara keseluruhan. Lans Kopral Mohd Erwan bin Mohd Hilmi dan Lans Kopral Samsul bin Sulong telah memenangi satu gangsa di perlawanan General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) Team Match, yang mana disampaikan oleh Mejar Jeneral Melvyn Ong Su Kiat, Panglima Tentera Darat Singapura.
Pada tahun ini, Tentera Darat Indonesia muncul sebagai juara AARM ke-27, dan diikuti oleh Tentera Darat Diraja Thailand dan Tentera Filipina di tempat kedua dan ketiga masing-masing.
AARM merupakan pertandingan menembak tahunan tentera darat di kalangan sepuluh negara-negara ASEAN. Ia juga merupakan landasan untuk berinteraksi dan mengukuhkan hubungan persahabatan mereka antara satu sama lain. AARM ke-28 akan diadakan di Malaysia.
