KAMPONG TANAH JAMBU, Friday 14 October 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit was the guest of honour at the Graduation Ceremony for 27 participants of the 6th Royal Brunei Armed Forces Command and Staff Course (RBAF CSC 6) this morning at the Defence Academy of the RBAF.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from Al-Quran by DSP Haji Mahran bin Haji Ahmad, one of the course participants from the Royal Brunei Police Force.

The Deputy Minister in his speech stressed on the importance of effective communications in achieving mutual goals of different agencies and also between defence and military organisations of different nations. This, he pointed out, was one of outcomes provided by the course besides professional knowledge of military affairs.

Various awards were also presented by the Deputy Minister. Major Azril Omree bin Dato Hasbullah of the Royal Malaysia Air Force received The RBAF CSC commendation award whilst Major Tang Chong Kiat of the Singapore Armed Forces was presented with the RBAF CSC Overall Excellence award. Professor Paul Spoonley the Pro Vice Chancellor, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, New Zealand, on the other hand, presented the Massey University’s Academic Excellence award to Major Richard Wilson of the United States Army.

Present at the ceremony were the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, Acting Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, High Commissioner and Ambassadors, Services Commanders, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Commandants, Directors, senior RBAF officers and family members of the graduates.

Graduating today with 14 officers of the RBAF were an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force and 12 international participants from The People’s Republic Bangladesh, The People’s Republic of China, Republic of India, Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Sultanate of Oman, The Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Singapore, Thailand and the United States of America.

The Command and Staff Course is a 40-weeks course delivered in partnership with New Zealand’s Massey University that aims to broaden the professional and academic knowledge, develop command, analytical and communication skills of mid-level officers in order to prepare them for higher command and staff appointments.







27 PEGAWAI TAMAT KURSUS MAKTAB TURUS ABDB KALI KE-6

KAMPONG TANAH JAMBU, Jumaat 14 Oktober 2016 -  Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan, Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit telah merasmikan Majlis Pengijazahan Kursus Maktab Turus Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) kali ke-6 bagi 27 pegawai yang diadakan di Akademi Pertahanan ABDB.

Majlis tersebut dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran oleh DSP Haji Mahran bin Haji Ahmad salah seorang peserta kursus daripada Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei.

Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan dalam ucapannya menekankan pentingnya keberkesanan komunikasi dalam mencapai matlamat bersama bagi pelbagai agensi dan juga di antara organisasi pertahanan dan ketenteraan berlainan negara. Beliau berkata, ianya adalah salah satu hasil yang disediakan oleh kursus ini selain pengetahuan profesional hal ehwal ketenteraan.  

Pelbagai anuegrah talah disampaikan oleh Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan. Mejar Azril Omree bin Dato Hasbullah dari Angkatan Tentera Malaysia telah menerima Anugerah “Pujian Kursus Maktab Turus ABDB”, sementara Mejar Tang Chong Kiat dari Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Singapura menerima Anugerah “Kecemerlangan Keseluruhan Kursus Maktab Turus ABDB”. Profesor Paul Spoonley, Pro Naib Canselor, Kolej Ilmu Kemanusiaan dan Sains Sosial, New Zealand pula telah menyampaikan Anugerah “Kecemerlangan Akademik Universiti Massey” kepada Mejar Richard Wilson dari Tentera Amerika Syarikat.

Turut hadir pada majlis tersebut ialah Pemerintah ABDB, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan, Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, Pemangku Pesuruhjaya Polis Diraja Brunei, Pesuruhjaya-Pesuruhjaya Tinggi dan Duta-Duta Besar, Pemerintah-Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Komandan-Komandan, Pengarah-Pengarah, pegawai-pegawai Kanan ABDB serta keluarga para peserta yang menamatkan pengajian.

Menamatkan pengajian dengan 14 pegawai-pegawai ABDB tersebut terdiri seorang pegawai dari Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei dan 12 pegawai tentera antarabangsa daripada Republik Rakyat Bangladesh, Republik Rakyat China, Republik India, Republik Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Kesultanan Oman, Republik Islam Pakistan, Republik Singapura, Thailand dan Amerika Syarikat.

Kursus Maktab Turus ABDB ialah kursus 40 minggu yang dikendalikan dengan kerjasama Massey University New Zealand, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan yang profesional serta pembelajaran akademik, membina arahan, kemahiran analisis dan komunikasi bagi pegawai peringkat pertengahan untuk persediaan mereka menempuh pelantikan-pelantikan staf dan perintah yang lebih tinggi.
