MUARA, Tuesday, 20 August 2019 – The Final Planning Conference (FPC) for the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) bilateral exercise between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the United States Navy (USN) took place from 20 to 21 August 2019 at the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC) in Muara. CARAT 2019 will be conducted in October 2019.
The FPC was co-chaired by Colonel Haji Norhazalan bin Abdullah, Chief of Staff, Joint Force Headquarters RBAF and Captain Ann McCann, Deputy Commodore, Destroyer Squadron 7. The conference was attended by participants from unit services of both the USN and RBAF.
This year’s CARAT 2019 marks the 25th year of the exercise, co-chaired by both RBAF and USN. CARAT 2019 will involve other governmental security agencies taking part in several engagement programs and exercises. During the FPC, participants are grouped into working groups to refine the exercise’s Scheme of Manoeuvre (SOM) and Schedule of Events (SOE) for the successful conduct of CARAT 2019.
The 25th CARAT 2019 is aimed to increase the level of proficiency and interoperability of RBAF, other governmental agencies in Brunei Darussalam, USN and United States Coast Guard (USCG) personnel in addressing current and future contemporary and complex threats.
MESYUARAT PERANCANGAN AKHIR BAGI EKSESAIS CARAT YANG KE-25 2019
MUARA, Selasa, 20 Ogos 2019 – Mesyuarat Perancangan Akhir (FPC) bagi eksesais dua hala Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) di antara Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Tentera Laut Amerika Syarikat (TLAS) telah diadakan bermula pada hari ini, 20 Ogos 2019 hingga 21 Ogos 2019 bertempat di Pusat Penyelarasan Multinasional (MNCC), Muara. Eksesais CARAT pada tahun ini dirancang pada bulan Oktober 2019.
FPC telah dipengerusikan bersama oleh Kolonel Haji Norhazalan bin Abdullah, Ketua Staf, Markas Angkatan Bersama, ABDB dan Kepten Ann McCann, Deputy Commodore, Destroyer Squadron 7. Mesyuarat tersebut turut dihadiri oleh peserta-peserta dari unit-unit yang terlibat dari ABDB dan TLAS.
Eksesais CARAT 2019 merupakan sambutan ke-25 tahun bagi ABDB dan TLAS untuk mengendalikan eksesais dua hala bersama. Eksesais ini akan melibatkan agensi-agensi keselamatan kerajaan yang lain bagi menyertai beberapa program dan latihan. Semasa FPC tersebut dijalankan, peserta-peserta dibahagikan kepada kumpulan-kumpulan kerja bagi menetapkan dan mengesahkan Scheme of Manoeuvre (SOM) dan Schedule of Events (SOE) bagi memastikan eksesais CARAT 2019 berjaya dilaksanakan.
Eksesais CARAT yang ke-25 bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemahiran dan interoperabiliti di antara anggota-anggota ABDB, agensi-agensi kerajaan Negara Brunei Darussalam, TLAS dan juga United States Coast Guard di dalam menangani isu-isu keselamatan yang berbentuk kontemporari dan kompleks.
