BOLKIAH GARRISON, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 – The 17th ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM) and its Staff Officer’s Meeting convened virtually from 21 to 22 September 2020. 

The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Hung, the Director General, General Department of Defence Intelligence, Ministry of Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with the theme
‘Towards a Cohesive and Progressive ASEAN Military Intelligence Community’.

Representing the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) was Colonel (U) Haji Mohd Muluddin bin Awang Haji Latif, the Director of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence. Also present during the virtual meeting were Senior Officers as part of the delegations. The meeting was also attended by Senior
Colonel Nguyen Tien Son, Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam.

During the meeting, the delegation discussed on regional security issues of mutual concerns. The meeting also deliberated on the Concept Paper on the establishment of the ASEAN Military Intelligence Community (AMIC) initiated by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as the Chair of AMIM for this year. The meeting concludes with a handover ceremony between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Brunei Darussalam as the Chairman for 2021.



MESYUARAT PERISIKAN TENTERA ASEAN KE-17

BOLKIAH GARISON, Selasa, 22 September 2020 – Mesyuarat Perisikan Tentera ASEAN ke-17 (AMIM) telah bersidang secara atas talian dari 21 hingga 22 September 2020. 

Mesyuarat telah dipengerusikan oleh Leftenan Jeneral Pham Ngoc Hung, Pengarah Jeneral, Jabatan Perisikan Umum Pertahanan, Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Sosialis Vietnam dengan bertemakan
‘Ke Arah Komuniti Perisikan Tentera Yang Kohesif Dan Progresif’.

Mewakili Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) ialah Kolonel (U)
Haji Mohd Muluddin bin Awang Haji Latif, Pengarah Perisikan, Kementerian Pertahanan. Turut hadir adalah pegawai– pegawai kanan sebagai sebahagian daripada ahli delegasi. Mesyuarat juga turut dihadiri oleh Kolonel Kanan Nguyen Tien Son, Atase Pertahanan Republik Sosialis Vietnam ke Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Semasa mesyuarat berlangsung, delegasi telah membincangkan isu-isu keselamatan yang menjadi kebimbangan bersama. Di samping itu juga, mesyuarat tersebut turut membentangkan Kertas Konsep mengenai penubuhan Komuniti Perisikan Tentera ASEAN (AMIC) yang dicadangkan oleh Republik Sosialis Vietnam selaku Pengerusi AMIM pada tahun ini. Mesyuarat tersebut diakhiri dengan upacara penyerahan di antara Republik Sosialis Vietnam dan Negara Brunei Darussalam sebagai Pengerusi bagi tahun 2021.
