BOLKIAH GARISON, Wednesday 13 May 2015 – The 16th Training and Exercise Working Committee Meeting between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) was held at the Officer’s Mess, Bolkiah Garrison, Ministry of Defence.
The meeting was co-chaired by Brigadier General Dato’ Mohd Nazir bin Mami, Head of Director, Defence Training Branch, Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters, and Colonel (L) Haji Aznan bin Haji Julaihi, Director of Personnel, Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.
The presence of representatives of the major services from both parties also made the meeting more beneficial. Through their presence, each of the major services had the opportunity to voice out their specific requirements in terms of training. This annual meeting also acts as a tool for the regular review of the progress of the training cooperation and exercises between both parties.
Through this meeting also, both RBAF and MAF have an efficient platform to facilitate interaction as well as to discuss professional military subjects. By doing so, both parties can maintain military to military contacts for continued interaction.
The professional training and exercises discussed during the meeting is aimed at improving knowledge, skills and attitude of all personnel attending the various programmes. These benefits will ultimately develop the personnel and allow him to function well either as an individual or as a group especially in areas of working in a combined force and bilateral cooperation relationship building.
It is hoped that this annual meeting will act as a foundation for the strong network of bilateral relationship between the two armed forces. Other than discussing the updates to the allocation of training and exercises, this meeting also provides an opportunity for both parties to learn from one another especially in terms of best practices.
MESYUARAT JAWATAN KUASA LATIHAN DAN EKSESAIS KE-16 ABDB-ATM
BOLKIAH GARISON, Rabu 13 Mei 2015 – Mesyuarat Jawatan Kuasa Latihan dan Eksesais Ke-16 diantara Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah diadakan di Mes Pegawai Kementerian Pertahanan, Bolkiah Garison.
Mesyuarat dipengerusikan bersama oleh Yang Berbahagia Brigadier Jeneral Dato’ Mohd Nazir bin Mami, Ketua Pengarah Cawangan Latihan Pertahanan, Bahagian Operasi dan Latihan Pertahanan, Markas ATM dan Kolonel (L) Haji Aznan bin Haji Julaihi, Pengarah Keanggotaan, Kementerian Pertahanan bagi mewakili pihak ABDB.
Kehadiran unit-unit individu dari kedua belah pihak memberi kesempatan untuk menyuarakan keperluan-keperluan spesifik untuk unit masing-masing dari segi latihan. Mesyuarat tahunan JKLE ini diharap dapat mentinjau perkembangan kerjasama latihan dan eksesais bagi kedua pihak.
Melalui mesyuarat ini, kedua belah pihak mempunyai platform untuk memudahkan lagi interaksi dalam membincangkan subjek ketenteraan, dan mempamerkan tahap professionalisma kedua angkatan pertahanan. Selain itu, ianya dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan dan sikap dalam melaksanakan tugas secara individu mahupun secara berkumpulan bagi mengasah kemahiran dan meningkatkan semangat setiakawan dengan kerjasama diantara kedua-dua angkatan tentera.
Mesyurarat ini juga dijadikan asas bagi mengekalkan serta meningkatkan lagi hubungan dua-hala diantara kedua-dua angkatan tentera. Ianya memberi peluang bagi kedua belah pihak untuk berkongsi pengalaman masing-masing terutama sekali dari segi latihan.
