MANILA, PHILIPPINES 6 May 2017 – The Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah led a delegation to Manila, Republic of Philippines to attend the 14th ASEAN Air Chief Conference (AACC).
The conference saw ASEAN Air Force Chiefs converging, under the chairmanship of the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, to discuss and further explore areas of cooperation among air forces of ASEAN. This year, the conference was themed, “ASEAN Air Forces: Partnering for change, Jointly Engaging for Greater Peace and Security”.
Among the significant milestones of the AACC this year were the launching of the ASEAN Airforce Standard Operating Procedure on Humanitarian Disaster Response and the AACC website. The conference concluded with the AACC chairmanship handed to the Chief of the Republic og Singapore Air Force, Major General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming.
On the sidelines of the conference, the RBAirF Commander had bilateral calls with his counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand.
The Royal Brunei Air Force hosted the 6th AACC in August 2009 in Bandar Seri Begawan.
PERSIDANGAN KETUA-KETUA TURUS UDARA ASEAN KALI KE-14
MANILA, REPUBLIK FILIPINA 2-6 Mei 2017 – Pemerintah Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), Brigadier Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah telah mengetuai rombongan ke Manila, Republik Filipina untuk menghadiri Persidangan Ketua-Ketua Turus Udara ASEAN Kali ke-14 (14th AACC).
Persidangan tersebut dihadiri oleh semua Ketua-Ketua Turus Udara ASEAN, yang dipengerusikan oleh Commanding General of the Philippines Air Force, untuk membincangkan dan terus meneroka bidang-bidang kerjasama antara tentera udara negara-negara ASEAN. Pada tahun ini, persidangan tersebut bertemakan, “ASEAN Air Forces: Partnering for change, Jointly Engaging for Greater Peace and Security”.
Antara pencapaian signifikan AACC tahun ini adalah pelancaran ASEAN Airforce Standard Operating Procedure on Humanitarian Disaster Response dan laman sesawang AACC. Persidangan tersebut ditutup dengan upacara penyerahan pengerusi AACC kepada Panglima Angkatan Udara Republik Singapura (RSAF), Major General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming.
Disamping persidangan itu, Pemerintah TUDB telah mengadakan kunjungan dua hala dengan rakan sejawatannya dari Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapura dan Thailand.
Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei telah menghoskan 6th AACC pada bulan Ogos 2009 di Bandar Seri Begawan.
