RBAF Women Military Personnel Celebrate 32nd Anniversary

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 28 June 2013 - The women military personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) celebrates its 32nd anniversary by holding a Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran at Ministry of Defence Surau. The Guest of Honour was Lt Col Hajah Hashimah Binti Haji Abu Bakar, Deputy Commandant of RBAF Defence Academy.

The ceremony was conducted as a religious event to be instilled to spur the Women military personnel 32nd Anniversary. The ceremony was intended to inject spiritual elements to all officers and women military personnel in conducting their tasks with the blessings from Allah Subhannahu Wa Ta’ala.

The Women Military Company was officially established on 29 June 1981 with a strength of five members of the British women military and a civilian clerk. While the first intake consist of 28 locals (6 Officer Cadets and 22 recruits). The women military role is to provide energy assistance to the RBAF which is required to replace part of the duties of the male military personnel where necessary to allow male personnel stationed in war units where they are needed.
