FOUNDATION LAYING CEREMONY FOR PROPOSED SURAU RIMBA AIR FORCE BASEprint

RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Friday 29 August  2014 – The Foundation Laying Ceremony of the proposed Surau at Rimba Air Force Base was held today at the project site.


This event was led by Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force  as the Guest of Honour.

SG AKAR, Thursday 28 August 2014 - Defend Brunei Darussalam’s sovereign rule and do not let our peace make us complacent, His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzadien Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) said in a titah addressing at the Sovereign's Parade of the 11th Intake of Officer Cadets, the RBAF Defence Academy.

SG AKAR, Thursday 28 August 2014 - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifudien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) consented to officiate the Sovereign's Parade Ceremony for the 11th Intake Officer Cadets.


The ceremony took place at the Parade Square of the RBAF Officer Cadet School (OCS) in Sungai Akar Camp this morning.

RBN COMMANDER ATTENDS THE 8TH ASEAN NAVY CHIEF'S MEETINGprint

BANGKOK, THAILAND, 26 - 28 August 2014  - The 8th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (8th ANCM) was held at the Hilton Millennium Hotel Bangkok, Thailand.  With the theme “ASEAN Underway: ASEAN Navies After 2015”, the meeting was officially launched on 27th August 2014.


This year’s meeting objective is to seek way ahead, to enhance cooperation in facing the maritime security challenges. Brunei Darussalam was represented by the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit.

KDB DARUSSALAM AND KDB DARULAMAN HAVE SAFELY ARRIVED IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAMprint

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Wednesday 27 August 2014 - KDB DARUSSALAM and KDB DARULAMAN have safely arrived in Brunei Darussalam after a long deployment and successfully participated for the first time in the biggest multi-lateral maritime exercise, Rim of The Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014.


This was the first long deployment for the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) whereby both ships took almost three months away from home in order to participate Ex RIMPAC which was hosted by the US Navy Western Pacific Command based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON ESTABLISHING A DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS LINK IN THE ADMM PROCESSprint

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 26 August 2014 – The Technical Workshop on Establishing A Direct Communications Link in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Process convenes today at The Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong, Brunei Darussalam.  This three-day Workshop was officiated by Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham Pengiran Haji Mohamad, Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.


Participants are from the ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat, as well as various departments and units from both the Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam.

RBAF UNIFIL PEACEKEEPERS DEPARTS print

RIMBA, Monday 25 August 2014 – Brunei Darussalam remains committed to its peacekeeping mission with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).  This time 30 RBAF personnel are to be deployed in Lebanon to supervise peacekeeping and security mission in the country.


A flag cession ceremony was held this morning at Air Movement Centre, Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba. 

FOREIGN MILITARY OFFICERS BEGIN ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE WITH RBAFprint

PENANJONG, Monday 25 August 2014 – Members of ASEAN military forces were initiated into an eight-week English Language course conducted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Training Institute in Penanjong Camp, Tutong.


The English Language Course for Foreign Armed Forces 2014 yesterday began with the participation of 29 officers and one senior ranked officer from six ASEAN member states: Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and Thailand.
