- The Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Brigadier General
(U) Haji Wardi Bin Haji Abdul Latip, was conferred Singapore's
prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or
Meritorious Service Medal (Military) by President Tony Tan Keng Yam.
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen presented the award to Brigadier General (U) Wardi at an investiture held at the Ministry of Defence.

- The 13th Joint Defence Commission (JDC) Meeting between Brunei
Darussalam and United Kingdom was held today at the Officers' Mess,
Bolkiah Garrison, Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.
The JDC was
established through the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment
of a Joint Commission on Defence Cooperation which was signed by both
countries on 31 December 2002. |

- KDB DARULEHSAN safely came alongside at Muara Naval Base after
participating in Multilateral Maritime Exercise 2014 in Qingdao,
People’s Republic of China, as well as a Goodwill Visit to Hai Phong,
Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The deployment led by Major (L) Willie
bin Padan together with a complement of 68 crew personnels began on 14
April 2014 until 5 May 2014.

DARULEHSAN which has sailed today to join the first time Multilateral
Maritime Exercise (MMEx) held by PLA-Navy and International Fleet Review
(IFR) in Qingdao, People's Republic of China from 20th April 2014 until
24th April 2014. It is also a first time for Royal Brunei Navy ship to
set sail to China.

- MILITARY personnel who commit Islamic criminal offences will be tried
in Syariah courts, following the introduction of the Syariah Penal Code
Order.
When
the new law comes into force on April 22, military personnel convicted
of Islamic crimes will not face court-martial for such offences as the
Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Act does not have jurisdiction over Syariah cases. |

Helang Laut, a bilateral exercise conducted annually between Royal Brunei Navy

15th serial this year and Royal Brunei Navy has the honor this
year to host the Exercise Helang Laut 15B/14 in Brunei Darussalam.
The
exercise was activated by First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji
Mohd Tamit, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy during the Opening Ceremony at

the two Indonesian warships that will join the exercise with KDB
DARULEHSAN and KDB IJHTIHAD from the RBN.

- Philippine Navy ship BRP Gregorio Del Pilar (PF-15) arrived in Brunei
Darussalam for a four-day Goodwill Visit. The 115m ship is commanded by
Commander Joe Anthony Orbe with a total number of crew of 124 personnel
which will depart on 8 April 2014.

Seven teams took part – Bolkiah Camp, Muara Camp, Berakas Camp, Penanjong Camp, Tutong Camp, Rimba Air Base and Lumut/Bangar. |

SUNGAI AKAR CAMP, Friday 4 April 2014 – Officer Cadet School (OCS) Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces held an Officiating Ceremony of the 12th
Intake of the Officer Cadet Course.
The guest of honour, Dato Paduka
Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Deputy Ministry of Defence, congratulated
22 Officer Cadets, consisting of 17 male and 5 female Officer Cadets.
Out of this total, 8 will join the Royal Brunei Land Force, 5 will join
the royal Brunei Navy and 9 will join the Royal Brunei Air Force.

HONOLULU, HAWAII, Thursday 3 April 2014
– The Informal US-ASEAN Defense Meeting was held on 3 April 2014 in
Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The Meeting was chaired by the US
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, and attended by the ASEAN Defence
Ministers and the Secretary-General of ASEAN. The Meeting discussed a wide range of regional security and defence issues including ways to strengthen defence cooperation, particularly in the areas of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. |

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 3 April 2014
– Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Seri
Pahlawan Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces (RBAF) paid a working visit to Royal Brunei Armed Forces
Counseling Centre at Bolkiah Garrison.
During the visit, a brief was
delivered by the Chief Counseling Officer, Major Rusli bin Bujang. With
the vision of serving those who served by providing counseling,
psychological and human development services to RBAF personnel, the
brief covered the current progress, challenges and changes of the Royal
Brunei Armed Forces Counseling Center. |

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 3 April 2014 - A doa selamat
ceremony for the return additional 9th group of the International
Monitoring Mission (IMT) of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF)
personnel was held at the Surau of the Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah
Garrison.
The contingent was led by 633 Major Abdul Mubin bin Haji Timbang composed of 805 Captain(U) Haji
Ilhamdi bin Haji Mohd Ali, Deputy Superintendent Mohd Noorani bin
Hussain, 10357 WO2 Abdul Majid bin Mohd Salleh, 10496 WO2 (L) Rahim bin
Haji Ibrahim and 10862 WO2 Suhardi bin Haji Asli. |

RIMBA, Rabu 2 April 2014 –
Perlawanan Kejohanan Bulu Tangkis Askar Wanita Peringkat Angkatan
Bersenjata Diraja Brunei bagi tahun 2014 telah diadakan pada selama dua
hari bermula 1 April 2014 hingga 2 April 2014 bertempat di Kompleks Sukan
Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei.
Tujuan
Kejohanan Bulu Tangkis ini diadakan ialah untuk mempertingkatkan tahap
pengetahuan latihan jasmani ahli-ahli Askar Wanita sama ada dari segi
fizikal dan mental dan juga menguji semangat berpasukan demi mencapai
matlamat dan kejayaan. |
