BALI, INDONESIA, Wednesday, 07 June 2023 – Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), attended the 20th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ Meeting (20th ACDFM) at Bali, Indonesia, chaired by Admiral Yudo Margono, Chief of Defence Force of Indonesia with the theme “Peace, Prosperity and Security” today.
The Commander of the RBAF was accompanied by the Joint Force Commander as RBAF’s Head of the 13th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting (AMOM) and the Director of Intelligence as RBAF’s Head of the 20th ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM) and that took place from 04 to 06 June 2023, in preparation for this year’s ACDFM.
During the 20th ACDFM, the ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces (ASEAN CDFs) and representatives then adopted the ASEAN Militaries Two-Year Activity Work Plan for 2023-2025 and signed the 20th ACDFM Joint Statement. In the exchange of views session, the Commander of the RBAF presented on regional security challenges and emphasised the imperative for ASEAN militaries to continue collectively work in partnership and maintaining a strong defence collaboration. The meeting concluded with the handover ceremony of the ACDFM Chairmanship to the Lao People's Democratic Republic as the next Chairman of the 21st ACDFM in 2024.
The Commander of the RBAF also held bilateral meetings with his ASEAN counterparts to discuss the warm bilateral relations and military cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the countries concerned.

BALI, INDONESIA, Rabu, 07 Jun 2023 – Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) menghadiri Mesyuarat ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ kali ke-20 (20th ACDFM) di Bali, Indonesia yang telah dipengerusikan oleh Laksmana Yudo Margono, Panglima Tentara Nasional (TNI) bertemakan “Peace, Prosperity and Security” pada hari ini.
Pemerintah ABDB telah diiringi oleh Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB selaku Ketua bagi Mesyuarat ASEAN Military Operations kali ke-13 (13th AMOM) dan Pengarah Perisikan selaku Ketua bagi Mesyuarat ASEAN Military Intelligence kali ke-20 (20th AMIM) yang telah diadakan dari 04 hingga 06 Jun 2023, bagi persediaan untuk Mesyuarat ACDFM kali ke-20 tahun ini.
Semasa mesyuarat ACDFM kali ke-20, Ketua-Ketua Tentera ASEAN (ASEAN CDFs) telah mempersetujui Pelan Aktiviti Kerja Dua Tahun Tentera ASEAN bagi tahun 2023 – 2025 dan seterusnya menadatangani Penyataan Bersama ACDFM kali ke-20. Dalam sesi pertukaran pandangan, Pemerintah ABDB membentangkan cabaran keselamatan serantau dan menekankan pentingnya bagi tentera negara-negara ASEAN untuk terus bekerjasama secara kolektif dan mengekalkan kerjasama pertahanan yang kukuh.
Mesyuarat telah diakhiri dengan upacara penyerahan pengerusi ACDFM kepada
Republik Demokratik Rakyat Laos selaku pengerusi bagi ACDFM ke-21 pada tahun 2024.
Pemerintah ABDB juga telah mengadakan mesyuarat dua-hala dengan Ketua-Ketua Tentera ASEAN yang lain untuk membincangkan hubungan dua hala dan kerjasama ketenteraan antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan negara-negara berkenaan.
