EXERCISE PACIFIC ANGEL CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Thursday, 18 September 2025 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and United States Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) convened a video teleconference (VTC) for the Concept Development Conference (CDC) of Exercise Pacific Angel at the Air Movement Centre (AMC), Rimba Air Force Base.

In attendance were Lt Col (U) Mohamad Fazley bin Hasabullah, Commanding Officer No. 1 Wing, Operations Group, RBAirF, together with pilots and subject matter experts (SMEs) from civilian-military operations, airborne delivery operations, and unmanned aerial systems. Also present were Commander Bert R. Bratton, United States Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam, Gregory Fournier, PACAF/A373 Exercises & Engagement (Lead Planner for Pacific Angel), and Lt Col Amy Brown, PACAF/SGX International Health Engagement (Lead Medical Planner for Pacific Angel).

The conference commenced with opening remarks by the Commanding Officer No. 1 Wing, Operations Group, RBAirF, who underlined the importance of the exercise as a platform for both diplomacy and professional learning. This was followed by discussions on the exercise concept and the proposed timelines for the Initial Planning Conference (IPC) and Final Planning Conference (FPC). The session also considered potential SME exchanges between both Air Forces.

The conference provided an avenue to shape the overarching concept for Exercise Pacific Angel and to identify areas of expertise for meaningful engagement. The upcoming exercise will further strengthen the enduring partnership between RBAirF and US PACAF.


PERSIDANGAN PENGEMBANGAN KONSEP EKSESAIS PACIFIC ANGEL


PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Khamis, 18 September 2025 – Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) dan United States Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) telah mengadakan persidangan video (VTC) bagi Persidangan Pengembangan Konsep (CDC) Eksesais Pacific Angel di Pusat Pergerakan Udara, Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba.

Persidangan tersebut dihadiri oleh Lt Kol (U) Mohamad Fazley bin Hasabullah, Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No. 1, Kumpulan Gerakan, TUDB bersama juruterbang serta pakar subjek (SME) dalam bidang operasi awam-tentera, operasi penerjunan dan pembuangan kargo, serta sistem udara tanpa pemandu (UAS). Turut hadir ialah Komander Bert R. Bratton, Atase Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Gregory Fournier, Latihan & Penglibatan PACAF/A373 (Perancang Utama bagi Eksesais Pacific Angel), dan Lt Kol Amy Brown, PACAF/SGX Penglibatan Antarabangsa Kesihatan (Perancang Utama Bahagian Perubatan bagi Eksesais Pacific Angel).

Persidangan dimulakan dengan kata-kata aluan daripada Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No. 1, Kumpulan Gerakan, TUDB yang menekankan kepentingan eksesais ini bukan sahaja sebagai wadah diplomasi, malah peluang pembelajaran. Perbincangan seterusnya menyentuh konsep eksesais dan cadangan tarikh bagi Persidangan Perancangan Awal (IPC) serta Persidangan Perancangan Akhir (FPC). Persidangan turut meneliti potensi pertukaran SME di antara kedua-dua tentera udara.

Persidangan ini berfungsi sebagai platform untuk merangka konsep menyeluruh Eksesais Pacific Angel serta mengenal pasti bidang kepakaran bagi interaksi dan penglibatan yang lebih bermakna. Latihan yang akan datang ini akan terus memperkukuhkan hubungan erat di antara TUDB dan US PACAF.
