I’m not sure if this point of the blog was for people to try and find ways to find a meaningful relationship or just to grandstand about the awesomeness of having sex with random people.

To bring it back to the original topic, I don’t think women are exactly hard-wired for monogamy. Certainly not life-long monogamy. We face temptations just like the guys do. Further, just like guys, sexual excitement *does* go up significantly when you’re with someone new. Just ask any woman who dates after divorce.

Further, some research shows that women prefer more feminine faces for most of their cycle, but that switches with a notable increase in interest for very masculine features during ovulation.

I think if we thought about that, maybe the real “natural” state of woman is a pair-bond with multiple extra-pair copulations.
