I define sex addiction as having a compulsive need to engage in risky sexual activities even if the consequences are dire. Any addiction is an action you cannot stop despite their being negative consequences. No orgasm is worth losing your family over yet some people just cannot stop even though logically they know this is a huge mistake. The high from arousal that you must maintain at all costs while you become less productive at work, spend too many hours online looking at porn or in some cases visiting prostitutes or ron de vus with men who may not be safe.
You keep pushing that envelope and the risk to maintain the high (in this case arousal). I consider that as destructive as any other drug.
